The Charikar Girls (2011)

End of October 2010 in Afghanistan. The children of the poorest families study In the girls' school of Charikar town in Parwan province. In most families, children are raised by mothers since their father are either killed or crippled during the long period of war. Filmmakers ask the girls to tell about the most beautiful and most difficult stories of their lives in order to reflect them in the film. During two weeks, the girls talk about their lives and invite the filmmakers to their homes to listen to the stories told by their mothers as well. The stories by both storytellers - the girls and the mothers - are more than painful - every story is influenced by the war.
