Events following the coup of June 1940 in Tallinn. Elections of the 2nd State Council, the first meeting of the State Council on June 21st, greeting demonstration in front of the Embassy of the Soviet Union on Pikk Street on July 24th. The documentary shows people's demonstrations, pre-election agitation, elections and the newly elected people's deputies in the hall of Toompea. The 2nd membership of the State Council approves the declaration of Estonia becoming one of the member countries of the United Socialist Soviet Republic (USSR). The documentary shows Johannes Vares-Barbarus, Karl Säre, Mihkel Jürna, Johannes Lauristin, Neeme Ruus and many other people related to the Communist Party and activists of workers' movement. Prime Minister Johannes Vares-Barbarus holds a public speech in Vabaduse square, Tallinn. Vehicles of agitation drive along Viru Street towards the town hall, the leaflets are thrown in the air. Elections to the Estonian State Council take place on July 14-15, people voting in the polling station. Declaration of the state power in Estonia is read out at the session of the State Council on July 21st, 1940. This is followed by a demonstration in front of the embassy of the Soviet Union on Pikk Street. People carry the slogan: "WE DEMAND ESTONIA TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE UNION OF SOCIALIST SOVIET REPUBLICS!".
