Gardener Arnold Treumuth's life in the summertime expresses the ups and downs of amateur gardeners during the 1970s in Estonia. The documentary is a contunuation to Vello Aruoja's documentary "Gardener's spring". Summer, a time of blooming and ripening, requires effort and care from a gardener in order to protect it from pests and birds. When the beauty fades with autumn, the gardener will wait for a new spring and gardening work that is the Arnold's favorite pastime.
