Members of the community of expatriate Latvians in Canada have gathered in the hall in Toronto where they discuss the political situation in Latvia after the armed attack by OMON (Soviet special forces) towards demontrating civilians in central Riga on January 20, 1991. Speeches by the representatives of the Latvian community. The government of Canada is asked to react to the antidemocratic attacks in the Baltic states with a protest and express support towards the fight for independence.
