The film tells about Snickeriet, a carpentry enterprise and wooden workshop in Pietarsaari, a small town on the western coast of Finland. It is a story about the place. its workers and apprentices.
This observational documentary relies on the depicted reality of this small workshop that tries to help young people in their effort to rebuild their lives after a certain period of unemployment. The films central character Micke interacts with those working there and like an umbrella affects the spirit of every-one. The documentary uses basic strategies of observation in order to fulfill it’s goals.
