Filmmakers observe poetess Debora Vaarandi (1916–2007) in Pirita beach, on Toomemägi hill and in a cafe in Tartu, having a conversation with writers, behind her writing desk, knitting, talking to fishermen and visiting her birthplace in Saaremaa island. Voiceover by actress Kersti Kreismann who reads Vaarandi's poetry. Among other people seen in the film there are Aira Kaal, Ingrid Rüütel, Ralf Parve, Paul Kuusberg, Jaan Eilart, Vive Tolli, Lembit Remmelgas and Endel Nirk.
