Light in Koordi (1951)

Paul Runge, a Red Army soldier, returns to his home village Koordi after the war. Despite the new regime people have not changed much. The village is still the same - neglected and without culture - where prosperous farmers maltreat local peasants, either with using tricks or with brutality. The hopes of new settlers are high, but the harvest will be poor. When Muuli from the Communist Party and Runge realize that small households have no power, they will start to talk about establishing a collective farm. Threatening letters and foul attacks by the followers of the old regime follow that will change completely life in Koordi.
