Dorian Supin was born on 25 September in 1948 in Leningrad (now St Petersburg). Two years later, in 1950, the family moved to Estonia where Dorian Supin graduated from the secondary school. At that time he took part in a drama club and was interested in photography. After the secondary school he returned to Leningrad in order to study plant protection at the Leningrad Agricultural Institute.
