"Pärnography" is a great introduction to the works of Pärn and serves as a great portrait film about the 'man from animazone'.

Priit Pärn is an animator of international renown, graphic artist, caricaturist and book illustrator whose works are utterly grotesque, absurd and funny. Additionally, they are critical of the society, piercing the deepest levels of human consciousness. A closer examination of Pärn and other Estonian animators reveals that Estonia was not sung or fought to freedom. It was liberated via animation!

Musical comedy directed by Arvo Kruusement is based on the play "In Sevilla or Don Juan" by Samuil Aljoschin. The classical story has been given a colourful interpretation through the pop music of 1960s and 1970s, fashion, and the architecture of the old town of Tallinn. The film includes lots of singing, dancing and fashion show. Its medieval milieu is mixed with the everyday items of the 20th century.

One day, an elegant young swordsman arrives at the good old Tallinn where its inhabitants extravagantly boast with fashionable outfit and pop culture of 1960s and 1970s. Soon the rumours spread among female citizens that the swordsman is the famous ladykiller Don Juan. The virtues of the local women are put to the test and the local young men have to take up arms in order to prove themselves. Yet, the Don Juan arriving at Tallinn is not the one whom people consider him to be.

Every now and then, Martin's fellow fishermen have saved him from hard work; however, every generation of the fishing people of the village has always known that they cannot be forced to be separated from the sea. At sea, one has to possess more than physical strength. When a group of people has to be saved from a boat in an autumn storm, Martin understands that one cannot act against the sea but together ...

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
