There are two people who wake up in the same bed one morning, and neither of them has a clue who the other is. Viivi would like to run away and the man is sleeping like a log. Unlike Viivi and Andu themselves, the viewers know both very well. They know that Viivi has the worst day in her life and that Andu is a dweeb, but not completely hopeless; a rather good-hearted man.
We are all mutually connected with invisible and delicate lines. Even if we never meet, our actions and only the plain existence can influence and even change the lives and realities of other people. The small, mysterious coincidences make our lives real. They let us realize that we are all sharing the same space and time – the same universe.
In “Fast Eddy” Director Marko Raat tells the story of Ed Vaar (1929 Estonia, Kuressaare-2015 Canada, Toronto) a freelance cinematographer, who earned his nickname ‘Fast Eddy’ by reaching the scene of events before police and CBC crime reporters. Majority of his filmed footage has aired on TV through CBC. The rest of the footage, over hundreds of thousands of film stock, that he didn’t manage to sell to news broadcasters, are piled up in Eddy’s downtown Toronto penthouse rooms and basement. Estonian Film Database (EFDB)
The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
