Ivi Eenmaa, manager of the Estonian National Library, introduces Helga and Enn Nõu the library on March 27, 1989. The Estonian Knighthood House, a building with a long history where also Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was located before the war, houses the Estonian National Library before moving to the new building.

Tiit Pääsuke's painting "Altar '88" is on the wall. Eenmaa introduces the principles of borrowing and depositing books. Helga Nõu is looking the books on the open shelves. Old wall paintings have been preserved on the walls of the depository rooms. Tea-Vaike Sein who works in the depository department shows the funds locating in the basement.

But then it turns out that people are enraptured by the artificial giraffe not the living one. There begins a public “giraffe boom”. The film ridicules the enthusiasm for artificial and counterfeit common to mass culture.
