Monette enters a confession booth and asks the priest if he thinks god may have sent someone to kill his wife. At first the priest is offended by this blasphemous question, but Monette argues that he thinks he’s able to prove it and tells the priest the grim story of what happened.

Haide and Toomas are two clowns who have been collaborating for 25 years. The documentary follows them through all the stages of the creation of their new show taking place in Tallinn's Botanical Garden, from their first visit to the location and the writing of the play to the rehearsals and its performance. The environment to which they have to adapt, consisting of an exotic room, creates a stark contrast with the winter surroundings outside. The underlying question of the documentary is: Why have these clowns stayed with Haide and Toomas for so long? Who needs clowns, and why?
