Dialogos is an experimental animated film, where all the visual material of the film is drawn directly onto the film stock. The film is founded on absurd humour. The theme of the film is contemporary high-tech society, where too many sign systems exist.

The film is about the revolt of the books. Similarly to the revolt of the slaves in Old Rome, the books one day seize power and destroy all the computers and mobile phones. Out of fear of the revolting literary works, people swear their fidelity to the books and start to read again. But that’s not enough for the books – they want the people to start talking using the books, just like they used to talk using mobile phones. The Ket people (formerly known as Yenissey Ostyak people), a small nation in Siberia, forms only a fragment of a nation in Krasnoyarsk Krai in 1980s (with the population of about 1000 people). It is known that these people habitated the territories already during the Paleozoic era. About half of the Ket people have started to live in Kellog village-like districts and their connections to their roots (natural way of living, fishery, nature religion, Shamanism) are disappearing.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
