May in Eden (2023)

"may in eden" is a visually ambitious, slightly surreal, fictional short film by Sofiya Babiy and Emily Bruus. 
While fleeing far along with her mother (Maarja Jakobson), Sophie (Maria Valk) decides to defy soldiers and in turn is fatally shot. While dying she ends up in the underworld where she reexperiences turning points of her life. From birth to death. She sees her childhood and how her mother encouraged her creativity and self expression despite societal pressure. Sophie dies and is reunited with her mother in paradise or... Eden.
