Plot summary

One of the most important historical battles for Estonia is the battle of Jüriöö that took place in 1343. The place, where it happens, lies close to the capital city Tallinn. In 1926, it was proposed to build a whole memorial for this battle, at the place where it happened – close to the capital city Tallinn. The first three of the memorial park was planted at 1935 by Estonias first president Konstantin Päts, but as the Soviet Union took over, the last bits of the whole memorial got finished just a while ago in 2007. The film features archive material from the history of Estonia and opening the memorial, also it features a commentary by the founder of the Jüriöö memorial Jüri Uppin and historian Heinz Valk.
