A short film about two brothers who have been coping with a loss in different ways.
The Knot is a drama with an eerie touch. Elements of horror were precisely inserted in parts of the film to allow the audience to observe the world through Anton’s perspective. A grim wooden room in the backyard, a gloomy abandoned building, a dark cell; all familiar sights in a horror context which are given depth with the revelation that the protagonist’s father has committed suicide. The workshop in the yard (where the father died) is a place of trauma for Anton and the prison and cells become a metaphor for death – the fear he can’t ignore. The Knotis a “darker than usual” coming of age story.
