Homesickness (2020)

Student film by BFM second year students filmed on 16mm film. The film tells a story of a young family's loss. Their grief and incapability of moving on after a personal tragedy.

Siim (27) Is introducing his packed up house to potential buyers. Suspicious buyers inspect the house thoroughly to make sure there is nothing wrong with the walls or with the fireplace as the house is freezing cold. Siim is acting a bit weird but the price of the house and the furniture is tempting and buyers decide to seal the deal. They are however interrupted by an accident with a coffee mug and one of the buyers leaves to get a clean jumper. In the meantime Siim's wife Mirjam appears out of nowhere and things take an even stranger turn. Turns out that Mirjam doesn't know anything about Siim's intentions of selling the house and she asks the buyers to leave. Siim and Mirjam start arguing and it turns out that Mirjam's been away for a long time to grief a lost of their child. Siim was left all alone in the house where the tragic accident happened and all he wants now is to sell the house and move on. Couple however eventually decide to try and work things out.
