Two fathers teach their kids the great art of chopping wood. No one wants to take the blame when an accident occurs.
Two fathers, Robert and Mart, teach their two 6-year-old sons the great art of chopping wood. The kids are doing great and the men decide to take the already chopped wood into the house, leaving the boys on their own. An accident occurs: Martin (the son of Mart) hits Joonas’s (the son of Robert) hand with an axe. Tension builds up as the parents find out that Joonas’s finger is intact and missing- The mothers who have no knowledge at all what the men were up to start to ask questions, but the fathers lack answers. Robert, as he’s searching for the finger, manages to stomp on the finger unknowingly. As the medics arrive, he finally finds the finger when nobody's watching.
Finally in the hospital the mothers decide to demand answers. After some resistance the fathers finally take the blame for letting the boys play with axes. A new conflict arises when the parents learn that the doctors couldn’t reattach the finger. In order to save the family Robert lies to others about the finger and indicates a possibility that little Martin could have stepped on the finger by accident. The parents take the bait and ask Martin if that might have happened. As Martin does not knowwhat to answer, he takes the blame. Everybody is at least a little bit happy again especially for Martin who stood up like a real man.
