Georg Krimm’s short documentary explores the mind of young influencers and the effects of social media on the youth.
Joonas is sitting in his home, watching Tiktoks. It is accompanied by him reminiscing on how he started watching Youtube as a little child. He goes on to express how he had to limit his consumption of social media, as he and his friends felt that they spent too much time on there, and how he feels that being a social media influencer is cool, but if you just mindlessly consume that kind of content, then you should remove yourself from that kind of an environment.
We go on to get a glimpse on how two young men, Max behind and Roderik in front of the camera, are making a new video for their Instagram account. Before we delve more into that, Roderik’s voice over explains to us on who he wanted to be as a child, how his internet personality came to be, and what is their workflow with Max and Airon.
We get back to the three young men discussing amongst themselves on what they should put into their next video, while it seems that Max and Airon are on the same page on what to put into the video, then Roderik has some objections on what they should include. As Airon finds the last thing that the all three want to include, Roderik and Max prepare themselves to film the video. Max counts Roderik in, upon which he starts reciting a pickup line, which turns out to be too funny for Max to film without laughing himself. Airon comes in to take over the filming and they start once again with Roderik. Roderik manages to mess it up two times, but that doesn’t discourage him, because after a few moments of regaining his composure he tries again, and on the third attempt he succeeds. We cut to Joonas watching the video, that the guys just made, while letting out a slight chuckle because of it.
We finish the movie with Roderik talking about his success and how he doesn’t feel the pressure to deliver content because of it, he is just happy that he has this chance.
