Vahur Linnuste (born in 1925, in Tallinn, Estonia), son of a military man, studied economy related issues already as a schoolboy. The documentary introduces his childhood memories when he was living in the borderstate between two different cultural spaces - Europe and Russia - and the collapse of the Republic of Estonia in the summer of 1940 when the small independent country of Estonia was united with the empire of Soviet Union. Erik, an experienced entrepreneur, fights with the Consumer Protection Board in court in order to keep going on with his business. Jass and Art are Erik's artist friends who have less experience in the business world yet more experienced in the field of alcohol. Erik is an earnest vodka renter. Behind the activities of Jass and Art there is enough of sly performance and moderate provocativeness.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
