To Whom the Bell Rings? is a film about a young mexican man Jose Luis, who is about to get married, but knows it is a wrong decision and is too afraid to take a step back. It is a film about youth, its struggles and how sometimes ourselves fades away in circumstances of reality.

Jose Luis is 32. Few years ago he quit his job as an engineer, sold his car and decided to chase his dream to become a filmmaker. He almost had it made. He was happy and was moving towards right direction. Suddenly his girlfriend, Sol (21), found a new guy and forgot to tell Jose that they are no longer together. This broke him, but he felt the need to get her back, fight for her like there is no tomorrow, while forgetting that he has to move to Prague soon and live his own life. He got her back, but the situation did not satisfy him anymore. so he left to Prague knowing it will not work out.

During the Christmas break, when he went back home, the story changed radically. Sol's mother passed away and through the grief they found each other again. In these emotional moments he thought this is it, this is real. And proposed to marry her. She said yes.

While finishing school in Prague, he started to have bigger doubts in himself. Is he good at what he is doing? What is the meaning of his life? What is he supposed to do? Where is his focus?

When he returned to Mexico, he had to go and work for his father's factory again as he lost all his finical savings in Prague. They were together with Sol. It was alright for him. They were still engaged, but there was no pressure.

When time passed, engagement started to become real. Everyone wanted it to happen. Except Jose Luis. He did not knew what he wanted, so he went with the flow until the moment he signed legal marriage paper. Then he knew…he did not want this to happen…not at all.

Now there are few weeks left until the real wedding ceremony. He is confused. He does not want it, but everyone are thinking for him. He tries to tell them, but gets afraid overtime. But the wedding preparation continues and continues. Will it kill him to get married or he will loose something while he will not stand up for himself? Does he even know what he exactly wants?

In the last week the balance under him is shaking. What to do? Should I just do it or there is still time to stop it? The film follows his last steps towards this seemingly unstoppable event. Can I be true to himself or he will satisfy others? Is he able to change even own mind and make peace with himself?
